Honey Garlic Crunch Pork Chops

The other day we got some pork chops while grocery shopping. There are so many interesting recipes out there to spice up a chop, I was excited to try something new for these. Now I have to admit,  I didn't actually make them, Gary did the work this time, but I found the recipe on Pinterest and am sharing it with you below!

Honey Garlic Crunch Pork Chops

The recipe calls for 6 pork chops, we only had 3 so we had a lot of leftover mix but the measurements for each spice and such were so small anyways, it seemed like more work to try and cut it in half.

Spice and Flour Mix:
1 cup flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tbsp ground ginger
1 tbsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp ground sage
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Egg Wash:
2 eggs
4 tbsp water

Honey Garlic Sauce:
2 tbsp olive oil
3-4 cloves minced garlic
1 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tsp ground black pepper

Step 1: Sift together the spice and flour mix.
Step 2: Season the pork chops with salt and pepper then dip into the spice and flour mix.
Step 3: Dip the chops into the egg wash and then again into the spice and flour mix. Make sure the chops are well coated in the mix.
Step 4: Heat a skillet on the stove on medium heat with about 1/2 inch of canola oil covering the bottom. Fry the chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
Step 5: While the chops are cooking, make the honey garlic sauce by heating the olive oil and minced garlic on medium heat in a sauce pan. Let the garlic soften but not brown.
Step 6: Add the remaining ingredients of the sauce and simmer together for 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Step 7: When the chops are done, dry on a wire rack for a few minutes before dipping into the honey garlic sauce.
Step 8: Finally, dip the chops in the honey garlic sauce and serve with sides.

These honey garlic crunch pork chops were amazing. They had a fantastic flavor and the crunchy texture paired nicely with the juicy tender pork. We paired ours with a side of mashed potatoes and apple slices along with a nice bottle or riesling.
