14 Days of Valentines: Day 12

For day twelve of my 14 Days of Valentines, I decided to make S'more Love Bars. Everyone loves S'mores and these have a nice V-Day touch.

S'more Love Bars

Ingredients

1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups mini marshmallows
3/4 cups M&Ms  (you know I used more than that though!)
1/4 cup hot fudge topping
Pam spray

Step 1:  Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray Pam in a 13x9 inch pan.

Step 2:  In a large bowl, beat crumbs, brown sugar, butter, flour, and baking soda with electric mixer until coarse crumbs form.  Press mixture in bottom of the pan.  Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 3:  Remove partially baked crust from oven.  Sprinkle marshmallows over the crust.  Bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until the marshmallows begin to puff.

Step 4:  Remove the pan from the oven.  Drizzle with hot fudge topping.  Sprinkle the M&Ms evenly over the marshmallows.  Let it cool for an hour and then cut into bars.

25 Days of Christmas: Day 12

For day 12 of my 25 Days of Christmas challenge, I decided to make mini marshmallow mugs. These make a great addition to any winter themed party including a hot chocolate bar or are the great starter to making your own s'mores,

Ingredients:
Large marshmallows
Cookies (I used fudge stripe cookies)
Mini candy canes
Vegetable oil
Sprinkles
Chocolate icing

First take the cookie, if you use fudge stripe like I did, place the cookie upside down. Then make a ring of chocolate icing around the middle hole and "glue" the marshmallow onto it. This is like a cup on a saucer. Then for the handle, break the curvy piece off of a mini candy cane and stick it into the side of the marshmallow. Next brush a tiny amount of oil onto the top of the marshmallow and top with sprinkles. The final result are adorable mugs. For a hot chocolate bar, toss the marshmallow into your hot chocolate and use the cookie for dipping. For s'mores, add another cookie on top and microwave for 10-15 seconds. You could also use these for place settings at Christmas dinner, stick a toothpick in the top of the mug and tape names onto the pick. The ideas are endless.

Texts from Darrell: Make It Rain Marshmellows

So I have a friend. He howls at the moon, he moos at cows and gives imaginary delivery men good tips. "No, no, keep the change." He also has made my day on more than one occasion by sending me the best text messages ever. It happened once, then this morning it happened again. The second awesome text made me think of a new series for my blog, Texts from Darrell. We will start out with two entries right away, the first will be the original text from Darrell followed by the most recent one. Enjoy.

So I'm at work one night, I don't keep my phone on me during games but I decided to stop by my desk just to check my messages. I see this.

I need to find some firebreathing strippers so i can tip them with marshmellows and make s'mores and it'll be the shiit. Do you know where i can find this so i can make it rain marshmellows?

My response:

Best text message ever.
